Physical Education

Healthy Minds & Healthy Bodies

Making the connection between having a healthy body & healthy mind through various physical activities.

Our Physical Education program aims to help students understand the importance of being physically active. We want our students to make the connection between having a healthy body and mind through various physical activities. Students not only develop specific movement skills but they are also given the opportunity to improve their skills in collaboration, communication, creativity and resilience.

All students participate in our annual House Athletics Sports Carnival.

Foundation – The focus is for students to develop skills in hand-eye coordination and balancing.

Years 1 and 2 – Students build on their knowledge, understanding and skills in relation to movement by exploring simple rule systems and safe use of equipment in a variety of physical activities and games.

Years 3 and 4 – Students apply strategies for working cooperatively and apply rules fairly. They refine fundamental movement skills and apply movement concepts and strategies in different physical activities to engage in sporting experiences.

Years 5 and 6 – Students demonstrate skills to work collaboratively and play fairly. Year 5 and 6 students participate in Summer and Winter Inter School Sports, Cross Country, the House Athletics Sports Carnival and have the opportunity to compete in Zone competition in athletics and swimming.
